PERSONALITY: Mercer is a selfish, vain man who disgusts religion and magics.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Mercer is very experienced in the use of 'exotic weaponry', mainly the use of the 'arakh', a combination between a sword and a scythe. He is also known for his strategic mindset and his various languages.
BACKGROUND STORY/HISTORY:
YOUTH:
Mercer was born in the city of Oroborough, as son of Richard Relven and Kathy Fireoath, owners of the biggest mercenary guild: 'The Watchers'.
In his youth, Mercer went to various schools to learn how to write, read and speak the basic languages of the land. In his spare time, he would get trained by his father's right hand: Marz 'Claymore' Westfall in the arts of combat.
At the age of fifteen, Mercer graduated on his school and completed his combat training. From then, he went on his first large adventure, towards the Northeastern Steppes.
TRIP 1: Northeastern Steppes
Joining his father on a large contract by the King of Oroborough, Mercer travelled towards the Northeastern Steppes. The Steppes were known for their tribalist civilizations, with their bloodthirsty minds.
Mercer first made contact with the tribals at an roadpost, maintained by 'The Banished', a group of banished templars. After a commotion around trade goods, Mercer got challenged to a duel by a tribal savage, named 'Okug'.
The duel went extremely one-sided, as Mercer quickly chopped off the right hand of Okug, making him unable to compete any further. Mercer got rewarded by the tribals in the form of a 'relic', a ancient 'arakh'. From this day, Mercer still fights with this 'arakh'.
After the fight inside the roadpost, Mercer got pulled back by his mother for a diffrent task, as his father did not need him any further, and so he returned to Oroborough.
TRIP 2: Shai-lan Summit
Mercer's job was to kill a rogue mage at the Shai-Lan Mountain, in the Eastern Lands. The trip would take long, and Mercer needed to go alone. Still, he went towards the Eastern Lands to complete his task.
When he enters the Eastern Lands, he met a monk, known as 'The Cloud Serpent'. She told Mercer that the mage he was looking for had terrorized her temple and killed her master. Mercer told her that he was here to kill the mage, and thereby, liberate the temple.
'The Cloud Serpent' agreed, and they both went towards the temple. At the temple, they came to a nasty surprise: The mage had control over various panda's, and trained them to be soldiers of war. 'The Cloud Serpent' knew a way to free the panda's from the curse, but Mercer needed to fight the mage alone.
When he reaches the inner sanctum of the temple, and met up with the mage. Mercer went into a battle he never could have won. The mage had the clear advantage of him, and Mercer got defeated. At last, 'The Cloud Serpent' had freed the panda's and took his place in the duel.
After a couple of minutes, the mage got into a clash with the monk, leading to his death. Still, Mercer was terribly wounded. For six months, he was recovering inside the temple, learning their ways of combat and training of the senses.
After his revalidation, he returned to Oroborough, and split up with his parents' company, to travel the world alone.
NOW:
Mercer is currently part of a volunteer force to stop the magicians and eliminate them, after the conflict of Barshire (25-4-2015 OOC).
