The Kingdom of Gauldenfall was one of the greatest kingdoms of Men in Soron, bordered by the Kingdom of Oroborough to the south, the Dwarves to the north, the isle of Shadows and the Free Cities to the east, and Vhalewood to the west. Its capital is Edgedale, a city located in the Dimwood the Great.
The Kingdom of Gauldenfall was founded by Stendarr and a handful of nobles from the Kingdom of Oroborough, self-exiles from Strongmarble, which is the capital of the Kingdom of Oroborough. Gauldenfall was an allied kingdom with Oroborough for a time, whose line of kings chieftains came from Ameno, while the Line of the Kings of Gauldenfall was from Stendarr, his son.
Vikings (from Old Norse víkingr) were seafarers and warriors from the Kingdom of Gauldenfall, who raided and traded from their Nordic homelands across wide areas of northern and central Soron. Facilitated by advanced seafaring skills, and characterised by the longship, they have become a noble and fearsome people. The Vikingr of Gauldenfall have infamously grown their reputation and renown in battle because of their tactics and brute strength in combat. Using a shieldwall in battles, they endure long enough for other forces to completely annihilate the enemy. The normal warriors usually wear thick and heavy armour, a broadsword and a big round shield in combat.
The Kingdom of Gauldenfall is a noble and prosperous kingdom. They believe in what they call ’ the Old Gods. ’ The Old Gods are the spirit Gods of nature, whom, according to them, reside in white trees. These 'Ashwood' trees are rarely found but tend to grow more in the Western parts of the Vhalewood and the Northern parts of the Dimwood. Gauldenfall is ruled by the Line of Stendarr, who was their first king. The Line of Stendarr continues to rule Gauldenfall even now, after thousands of years, and will continue in doing so.
